Come and enjoy ESCAPISM, the culmination of my first year as the Artistic Director of Continuum Dance Company at the City of Burnaby's cultural jewel The Shadbolt Centre of the Arts.

Escapism is a two act dance and music experience custom built on the six dancers over this three season creative program at the centre.
|
|
The show starts at 7 pm and includes an intermission to build in some time for everyone to enjoy the exhibitions, the grounds, and perhaps a refreshment at Encores here at the centre.

In addition it is beyond exciting to announce the debut of the exquisite costumes designed and constructed by award winning designer Patricia Hargreaves

This presentation will include dancers from my Beginner Modern for Adults class as well as Continuum Company members performing together a version of BEACH while Vancouver artist Thomas Anfield sketches the bodies in motion.

Kevin Bergsma has been teaching and creating contemporary dance, movement technique workshops, and regular modern dance classes for over twenty years, at: Vancouver’s, Harbour Dance Centre; international dance festivals; and Vancouver and Burnaby city arts and recreational centres. Experience and credits include: Co-Founder and Artistic Director of BUTOH-a-GO-GO, creating and performing for festivals and presentations across Canada, in the United States, Russia, Poland, and Japan. A multidisciplinary artist, Kevin’s creative forms include butoh, cabaret, dance, film and television, musical-theatre and opera. Other contemporary dance credits include work with: dancers Dancing; Kokoro Dance; LINK Dance; and Vancouver Dance Theatre.
